Senior Eye Associates, P.C., was founded in 1980 by Harold Schwartz, MD., as Chicagoland Cataract Clinic. Since that time, Dr. Schwartz has been dedicated to providing on-site services to residents of nursing homes at a time when few, if any, physicians were willing to do so. Several years later, Senior Eye Associates was formed to concentrate exclusively on the needs of residents in all types of care facilities. Senior Eye has grown into the largest provider of on-site eye care in Illinois. We currently serve over two hundred facilities throughout the State.
Senior Eye has developed an outstanding team approach to delivering eye care. Using only certified and highly trained Optometrists as primary care providers, these Doctors provide on-site Comprehensive eye examinations as well as on-site fitting and dispensing of eye glasses. These Doctors are also qualified in on-site diagnostics and treatment. In the event a resident requires diagnosis or treatment beyond the scope of the Optometrist, Senior Eye has Board-Certified Ophthalmologists (MD.) available for consultation.
These highly trained physicians have specialty training in all areas of eye disease including Cataracts, Retinal Diseases, Corneal Diseases, and Glaucoma.
Senior Eye also has affiliated Opticians and laboratory facilities to fabricate the highest quality eyewear, and to verify eyewear produced by the State of Illinois for Medicaid recipients.
Finally, Senior Eye Associates is supported by the most experienced administrative group in our area of practice specialization. Our group has more than a half century of experience in the eye care delivery area.
